Cameron Pate-Addie, May 18 to May 24, 2020

Monday: This week starts a long work week at my job. I have agreed to help out in meat department this week, and because of this I will be taking on many days with multiple shifts. I am excited to try something new.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been far from my mind lately. It, while being honest to my words, almost seems like there is not a pandemic going on. Everything is opening back up and it seems that the numbers of cases are going down? Now, do not quote me on that because the pandemic has not been on the forefront of my mind, but from some sources I have read it appears that way.

Tuesday: My first day working in meat department went well. I worked from 11am to 9pm.

Wednesday: Just been working. Nothing to note here. It has been raining mostly all week, lots of flooding around the upcountry.

Thursday: Just been working. Nothing to note here.

Friday: Today is my last day helping out in meat department. I have enjoyed my time back there and feel that I did my work well and improved since the start of working in that department. Lately, perhaps for almost a month, I have been studying a philosophy that is new to me. Stoicism. I like the idea of it, and I have been trying to incorporate it into my daily life. It will take time however because I have barely scratched the surface of this philosophy. I have begun listening to Meditations by Marcus Aurelius on audiobook. It is a very practical philosophy for everyday life to put it simply.

Saturday: Played water guns and other outdoor games with my girlfriends’ niece and nephew. It was an enjoyable day. I have been looking forward to the weekend. Nothing too crazy planned but we shall see.

Sunday: Nothing much else to note here. Today seems to be a lazy day, but nonetheless it is a good day.
