1) Please describe any significant events that occurred this week and what you think about them
I have been thinking about the virus and how I have been getting used to it. I used to think I was being responsible, as I stayed away from everyone. But I seem to have laxed my precautions. I now hug my grandparents, although the hugs are very short, and we still only see them if we are outside. I also started thinking about what circumstances I would need to completely forego my precautions. I plan on going to the lake with my friends in a few weeks. I may go on a date in the coming weeks (the verdict is still out on that, so don’t get too excited). I absolutely plan on going back to school in August. Obviously if myself or a family member tests positive for the virus, I would absolutely stay inside, but otherwise, I suppose I’ve been pretty bored over the summer, so any chance I get to have social interaction I would probably just throw out all of my precautions.
2) Were there any significant changes between this week and last week?
My sister went on vacation this week to Miami, Florida. I have not read any statistics, but I have heard Miami is a “hotspot” for the virus. Then again, so is Greenville, where I live. She will certainly be tested when she gets home, and hopefully those results will come in soon. If she does indeed have it, obviously all of my plans will be cancelled. Not that I had any significant plans, just hanging out with my friends in a few weeks. But I do not want to give anyone the virus, so I would call in sick to work and probably stay inside for a few weeks. I wonder how the process works. I know how they conduct the test, but if you test positive, do they offer a follow-up test? A test for after you think the virus has passed and you show no more symptoms?
