1)      Please describe any significant events that occurred this week and what you think about them

I went to a funeral this week. I do not know if it is a Southern “thing” or not, but I never truly understood why a funeral needs to happen not even a week after the passing. Regardless, some measures were taken to ensure the safety of the funeral-goers. It was a graveside service, so hopefully it being outside would help protecting those who attended the funeral. However, the chairs were very close together, me and a few others opted to stand in the back rather than sit close to one another.

I believe a more formal indoor service will take place at a later date, hopefully when the virus has calmed down a little bit, whenever that may be. I do not want to stereotype any type of person, but I will say from my observations older people and conservative Southerners (and “rednecks”) choose to not wear a mask. Well, that was the main demographic of this particular funeral. I wore a mask, but I was the vast minority in this case.

2)      Were there any significant changes between this week and last week?

I think everyone, including myself, is getting really tired of this. I still wear my mask to most things, despite it being uncomfortable, but I am forgetting to bring it place a lot more than I used to. I got invited to spend the week with a few friends and their family in a cabin. I’m going to do it. I know this absolutely invalidates everything I said in the last log. I don’t know, but I feel like I can’t just stop my life anymore, everybody else is moving on.
