Things have been hectic the last few weeks. Since I've been home there have been lots of changes in my life. I have lost my job entirely to business closure and finding a new one is difficult at this time. My weeks consist of schoolwork and other things that I can find to do. I try to keep up with news reports about COVID-19. There have been a lot of articles, reports, and stories about what's happening. In my opinion, I believe there are a lot of news reports that leave out important details about what’s happening. I also believe that people are taking advantage of the situation. There are a lot of articles with edgy titles that scare people and are contradictory. I have been flowing international news as well. I've read and seen a lot of graphic videos that are heartbreaking. I think its brave what essential workers are doing, and I’m grateful that people continue to work. However, it does frustrate me when people don’t take things seriously. I understand that students miss their friends, school, prom, and graduation ceremonies. But people are losing their family members and their own lives. When I hear people complain it annoys me because they aren’t looking at the bigger picture here. Me being an introverted person I don't find self-distancing hard. Staying indoors is also easier for me than most people. I put myself in other people’s shoes to understand why this situation is so difficult for them. Other issues I have are the lack of supplies in stores and the attack on the Asian community. It’s upsetting to see how hostile people have become. Overall, living through a modern pandemic is interesting, especially if you compare past ones. I believe we are at an advantage, because these are modern times, and we can be better equipped.
